Spider-Mosiac by Mr. Xenomurphy

What happens when you knock over a bucket of LEGO bricks? Most people will answer "One big mess!" Ask Mr. Xenomurphy, and he'll tell you "Spidey!"
Though I doubt this came out of a brick spill, it's a great MOC with a style that I don't think I've seen before. I could see this being called the "Spill style."

See it on Mocpages.

2013 Star Wars Now at Shop@Home

Just two days after Christmas, LEGO releases the 2013 Star Wars line. What in the world? It's this kind of scheme that makes me never want to buy from LEGO again.
But you can buy them if you want. They're actually the most reasonably priced Star Wars sets in 4 years. So maybe things are looking up!

Go buy them now! BUY!

New Summer 2013 Set Rumors (LOTR, Star Wars, Castle)

A hoard of Summer 2013 set rumors have appeared all over the internet. The most exciting rumors (to me) is the announcement of more LOTR, certain Star Wars sets, and the return of Castle!
There's also some Galaxy Squad, Legends of Chima, and City. So let's dive into the rumors of 2013 LEGO!

10232 Palace Cinema

Brickset has posted an image of the new 10232 Palace Cinema. It is a Creator set, and not a modular. I wonder if it'll be a part of the modular line just under a different name. It sure would look good next to the Town Hall.
No word on release date or price. I'll update when they become available.

Santa's Pod Racer by Max Pointner

As Christmas draws nearer, more and more holiday-themed MOCs keep coming up. A nice representation of the masses of Christmas builds is Max Pointner's Santa's Pod Racer.
While I don't think Santa has a Podracer, and if he did, who knows what it would look like, you have to love the design of this baby.
I think the reindeer engines are my favorite part. With the battle droid antlers, the christmas light connector, and the rudolph nose, they should make for some fast flying. And Santa will sure need their speed in a few days.

LEGO CUUSOO: Summer Review Results

LEGO has revealed the final verdict of the Summer 2012 CUUSOO Review. The four projects under review were Modular Western Town, BTTF - DeLorean Time Machine, Legend of Zelda, and EVE Online Ships - Rifter.
After much review, the next LEGO CUUSOO project to become a LEGO set will be:

What a great project. Masashi Togami did a great job recreating this vehicle. I'll be very excited when these start hitting stores (or online stores).
But what about the other 3 CUUSOO projects in the review? What will happen to them. Well, LEGO has said that the projects that don't win the review will either be archived, or put aside for the next review.

Modular Western Town: Has been archived. LEGO has said they will not produce this set due to it conflicting with an ongoing project at The LEGO Group. Lone Ranger anybody?
Legend of Zelda: Has been archived. Due to the great amount of new molds needed for this project to be made, LEGO has decided to archive this project.
EVE Online Ships - Rifter: Has also been archived. The amount of supporters with this project has made LEGO consider the gaming world more. But this project has a more challenging business case when considered alongside other products.

A very big disappointment with the archived projects. Modular Western Town was one of my all time favorite CUUSOO projects. It's sad to see it go.

LEGO CUUSOO: Review Results on the 20th

Remember those CUUSOO projects that passed the 10,000 mark 6 months ago? If you don't. It's okay, it's been awhile. The Summer 2012 review has finally ended. LEGO will unveil the the chosen project on the 20th of December. The four projects are:

Modular Western Town
BTTF - DeLorean Time Machine
Legend of Zelda
EVE Online Ships - Rifter

Which project will LEGO choose? We only have to wait a couple of days to find out. All these projects are great, so it'll be a hard decision. I don't think any of them will get rejected, just put on the shelf till the next review.
Keep your eyes peeled on this site the next couple of days for the results.

Legends of Chima Listed at Shop@Home

LEGO has listed the Legends of Chima sets at Shop@Home. Though they won't be available till January 1st. There are plenty of new pictures to see.
It's kind of a bummer that they didn't list them sooner. Looking at it from a marketing perspective, wouldn't it be better to have them available in the middle of December? I guess LEGO doesn't think so.

The Lone Ranger Early Sets

With the LEGO Consumer Catalogue being made available to some very lucky few, it's only natural that some 2013 sets would slip out. In this instance, the sets are The Lone Ranger.
We'll be getting a six-set wave somewhere around May 2013. With the west back in town, even I'll have to grab some of these. Who knows when Indians will be making an appearance again?

79107 Comanche Camp. Pieces and price unknown.
79108 Stagecoach Escape. Pieces and price unknown.

LEGO Ninjago Continued in 2014

Just when I thought Ninjago would finally leave, LEGO tosses an easter egg onto the LEGO Message Boards. The never ending theme will reawaken in 2014 for a whole new wave.
Since the message board post is the only true way to understand this news, I'll hand it over to them.
"Calling all Ninjago fans! :star:
Gather round! Beckon all of your friends to gather round, too! We have important and exciting news! Not just any news. Not news about the weather or cats stuck up trees or the price of milk! No, this is news about Ninjago! :secret:
“But, what news? What news could be so important? Isn’t Ninjago being discontinued in 2013?!”, we hear you exclaim! Ah yes, young ninja, we sense you are eager to learn more and so shall the news be revealed… :light_bulb:
Because our message boards fans are so awesome and because we know you love Ninjago more than anyone else in the entire world, nay universe, we are giving you guys this information first and exclusively! Check the internet; see if anyone else is mentioning this! They won’t be right now because you’re hearing this from us first and you’re the first to know!
Jammers on: Ninjago fans only!
Ninjago will continue into 2014!
Jammers off: Yayyy!!!!

Well isn't that nice. Who would've thought Ninjas were so popular with the kids. I think I'm done with ninjas (I only got three sets anyway). But as long as everyone else isn't, LEGO will keep the sets coming.

10 Things I Liked about The Hobbit: AUJ, and 10 I Didn't

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hit theaters early Friday morning. I was there with my 3D glasses, prepared for a HFR (high frame-rate) adventure.
Is The Hobbit really worth all the hype? Was the HFR terribly distracting? Will this really work with 3 movies?

While I won't be giving a review just yet (that may come after my second viewing), I have compiled a list of the 10 things I did and didn't like about The Hobbit.

Warning! The following post is riddled with spoilers. To avoid ruining an amazing movie, read this post after viewing the film.

2013 Sets Spotted at TRU

It's that time of year again. The time when all the 2013 sets start appearing on different websites and in different toys stores. Don't you just love when TRU has all the new sets and the only ones you can buy are the ones that cost less than $20? Me neither.
Toys R Us now has the 2013 Star Wars, Super Heroes, Ninjago, and other sets available at certain stores. I've yet to be at a TRU this month, the prices scare me away from the door. And I can always go across the street to Target and save $30 on a Battle of Helm's Deep.
If you want to get your Christmas shopping done before the rush, get to a TRU now!

Thanks to FBTB for posting the news first.

Finders Keepers by Ochre Jelly

Apparently I wasn't the only one that thought the LEGO One Ring was too big for minifigures. Ochre Jelly (Iain Heath) has used the One Ring the way it should be used - By brick-built figures.
I don't think there is one flaw in this entire MOC. From Bilbo's hair, to his jacket, to Gollum's eyes, everything is masterfully done.
With the nationwide release of The Hobbit less than 48 hours away, the timing of this MOC couldn't have been better.

LEGO Star Wars Advent Calender 50% Off

For those of you that haven't yet bought the Star Wars Advent Calender (I know I haven't), and don't want to spend $50 on it, there's a solution. LEGO currently has it for the small price of $24.99.
Though buying it now won't do much good as far as a calender goes, you can still pick up some great figs and micro models.

The Lone Ranger Microsite Now Live

A couple months back, there were rumors circulating that LEGO would be releasing The Lone Ranger sets to tie in with the 2013 movie. And after a bit of a wait, LEGO has finalized these rumors by launching the microsite for the theme.
It's about time LEGO has restarted the west theme. After the end of the Wild West in the early 2000s, LEGO fans have practically screamed for more cowboys. So this theme should go over well.
And as usual, there will be plenty of new pieces, maybe the most exciting piece being the new revolvers, and the tomahawk!

Check out the microsite here.

Winged Centaur by MortalSwordsman.

MortalSwordsman delivers big time with his newest creation Winged Centaur. The wing design is rather similar to his Cyber Angel's wings, but with a little more mythical feel.
An all around great creation for the 300th post on BrickEnd.

Amazon LOTR and The Hobbit Deals

Amazon currently has some great deals on Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit LEGO sets. With The Hobbit hitting theaters a week from today, this'll be the perfect way to feed your Hobbit craze!
While most of the deals are only a few bucks off here and there, there are some drastic price drops in several of the larger and more pricy sets.

The Goblin King Battle: MSRP: $99.99. Amazon discount: $85.50. BUY!
The Battle of Helm's Deep: MSRP: $129.99. Amazon discount: $105.99. BUY!
Attack on Weathertop: MSRP: $59.99. Amazon discount: $42.75. BUY!

Other deals include The Mines of Moria $3.50 off, Shelob Attacks $2.40 off, and Attack of the Wargs $2.50 off.

GAIA - AT Viper by Jon B

I just want to pick this thing up and swoosh it around the room a few times. It's just screaming "SWOOSH!" Those fins are way too cool to sit on a shelf.
I can tell you, I would not want to be on the wrong side of this bad boy.

See it on Mocpages.

Industrial Era by Riccardo Zangelmi

Run, run, run, little man. The big-scary-wheel-thing is gonna get you! Doesn't matter if you think you're Jack Sparrow, you got nothing on that pink mohawk.
What a great build by Riccardo Zangelmi. The industrial towers are very simple, but add to the MOC in an unbelievable way. And that big-scary-wheel-thing is awesome!

Though they're not available yet, and won't be till the 31st, LEGO has listed all six of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sets online.
All sets have great figures, plenty of new pieces, and best of all, excellent price-per-piece ratios. For turtle fans, these are a must-have.

[CCY's MOC] - LEGO Westie by CCY 8086

I've seen LEGO dogs, and I've seen LEGO dogs! But none compare to this simply remarkable creation by CCY.
By using many differently shaped slopes, he was able to create a very realistic fur design. The slopes around the mouth give the look of a neatly groomed dog. While the ears point up in the cutest of ways.
And guess what else? The legs are positionable.

Review: CMF Series 9 on Eurobricks

Eurobricks member Whitefang has done an awesome review of the Collectible Minifigures Series 9. You may remember him reviewing every other series over there. But this one stands out as one of the best.
Complete with a Cyclops, Forest Maiden, Battle Mech, and Plumber, this series may be one of the most sought after ones since series 1. Which you'll remember was only so sought after because of the very limited quantity.

Check out Whitefang's review on Eurobricks.

Favorite Star Wars Film in LEGO Poll Closed

So sorry for the delay in posting this, because we all know it's December 2nd. I'll make it up to you. Just keep reading.
After a really close race in the November 2012 poll, one winner emerged victorious! For those of you that don't remember, the poll was for your favorite representation of a Star Wars film in LEGO bricks.
Thank you all for voting, and if you missed the chance, don't worry! We've got a great poll for you this month.
You chose from all 6 movies, the Clone Wars film, and the Clone Wars TV show. A hard decision I admit. But now for the winner of the Favorite Star Wars Film in LEGO poll! And the winner is...
The Clone Wars TV Show!

This TV show brought a whole new field of greatness to the Star Wars galaxy. So it's no wonder this option won. But the excitement of Star Wars Episode VII is over, and the time of The Hobbit has begun! As you all know, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released in theaters everywhere on the 14th. I hope you've bought your tickets, this will be a movie you don't want to miss.

Because I'm such a big LOTR fan, this month's poll will be for your Favorite LEGO The Hobbit Set. Choose your favorite. Or maybe wait till The Hobbit comes out and make your decision based on the film.

Let's hop right in to a month full of festivities and Hobbits!
