Disney Buys Lucasfilm Ltd. Episode VII in 2015

Definitely the biggest and best news this October: Disney has indeed bought Lucasfilm Ltd. (For the pretty price of 4 billion). It has been announced that there will the 3 more Star Wars movies over the next 10 years. Beginning in 2015 with the release of Episode VII.
I seriously think I'm gonna lose my brains! In a good way of course. This will certainly give Star Wars a big boost. Not to mention another possible Indiana Jones film. And those worried about this ruining Star Wars, George's scripts couldn't be ruined by a dinosaur.

One has to wonder if LEGO has known about this decision for awhile. Having renewed the Star Wars license for another 10 years, what plans do they have? We can look forward to 2015. Disney is becoming a movie dynasty!

Hi Georgie by Leda Kat =^..^=

Just a scary little Halloween MOC by Leda Kat. Ok, so it's cute not scary, but it's still a Halloween MOC.
And SNOT water is my favorite anyway.

Collectible Minifigures Series 9 Lineup

A lineup of the minfigs from Series 9 of the Collectible Minifigures has popped up. Sounds like an exciting series with lots of new molds.

  • Alien Trooper
  • Chicken Suit Guy
  • Maid Marion
  • Heroic Knight
  • Cyclops
  • Mermaid
  • Fortune Teller
  • Dr. Splitz
  • Roller Derby Girl
  • Judge
  • Battle Mech
  • Caeser
  • Downtown Cop
  • Plumber
  • Waiter
  • Hollywood Starlet

I see some great possibilities here. The Battle Mech, Chicken Suit Guy, Cyclops, and Caeser could be great. Then again, they might fail miserably.
The packaging for this series is rumored to be Silver. Not unlike the whitish-grey of series 6.
Release date is January. Will LEGO stop after Series 10?

October Poll Votes Restored!

Overnight, the October poll votes have magically been restored. I had nothing to do with this. So thank you Blogger for fixing what you messed up. :)

If you haven't voted yet, there's still time! Don't be shy, let the world know what your favorite year of LEGO is.

The Big MaK by Sean & Steph Mayo

The Big Mac mech is coming! It will ruin your McDonalds shopping experience forever!
Love the dish as the top of the bun. And look at those curly fries. You know what, just click the link, it's worth a better look.

LEGO CUUSOO: Purdue Pete Blasts 10,000 Supporters

Purdue Pete was added 10 days ago today. And it's already at 10,000. That's what I call a big fan base.
This project has been very different from the other projects to achieve the 10,000 mark. Most others are a set from a franchise, or the franchise itself. This is a sculpture of non other than THE Purdue Pete.

Congratulations to those that have spent so much time on this project! Whether it be the builder, the supporters, or those that spark the interesting conversation, give yourself a pat on the back!

MIT Round 2 Bob the Inconceivably Invincible vs. Garret Smith: "Meesa Jar Jar Binks!" by Bob the Inconceivably Invincible

Oh Jar Jar. What have you done now? You may be nearly everyone's least favorite Star Wars character (me not included) but you sure have a good LEGO form.
And Bob the Inconceivably Invincible, love the name! :)

October Poll Votes Dropped! Why?

Woke up this morning feeling refreshed and ready for another day of blogging. )That's actually not how I woke up, but it sounded good)
I head on over to my blog and what do I see? The October poll has 0 votes. Why is this? Yesterday it had plenty.

I apologize for this. I have no idea how this happened and I will try to restore the votes. (Somehow)
In the meantime, feel free to vote again!

The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game 3DS Gameplay Footage

Some new LEGO The Lord of the Rings gameplay footage has come up from Past to Present Online. We get an in-depth look at Weathertop and the battle with the Nagúl. I had no idea there was a big bird tormenting the Hobbits while Aragorn slept. Wait a second, Aragorn slept? I thought he was on watch. Nope, he wasn't.
That's just a bit of the humor coming from LEGO's newest video game. Watch the gameplay video and see what's to come.
This game will be available November 13th. Pre-order from GameStop to get the Second Age Elrond.

Crazy Crane Capers! & Puzzle Bobble! by Luke Watkins

Luke Watkins is known for his beautiful, massively elaborate, castle MOCs. But a recent excursion into the realm of gaming has made him known for a little more than that.
That addicting crane game in every store that steals hundreds of quarters from begging kids and their frustrated parents. "Get the pink one!" "No! Get Batman!" *BEEP* "OH! OH! Oh. Darn."

And also the addicting computer game where players shoot bubbles of matching colors together to beat the level.
Bounce it off the wall. Works every time.

Operation Brick Freedom Brickfair 2013

You may remember the awesome Operation Brick Freedom MOC from BrickFair Virginia this year. The MOC was huge, detailed, and had some great builders participating in it.
The OPBF team will be back for BrickFair Alabama in January next year. And they need your help to make it even better than this year!
Interested individuals or groups should contact Michael ($Deltaforceguy$ from Flickr) at the OPBF website Operationbrickfreedom.webs.com, or on his Flickr.

Get in on the building and sign up for Operation Brick Freedom!

LEGO Rubik's Cube by Jameson42

How many millions of you have been delighted and stumped by the Rubik's Cube? Maybe even more delighting is this MOC by Jameson 42 on Flickr.

I knew it was only a matter of time untill it was done. The LEGO dice were screaming "Rubik's Cube!" from when I first saw them.
Nonfunctional, but still great!

Winter 2013 Star Wars Wave Revealed

With the recent (sort of) launch of Season 5 of Star Wars The Clone Wars, LEGO has fittingly released the set pictures from the winter 2013 wave of Star Wars!

Switzerland game shop Wog.ch has added all the 2013 sets but as of now they aren't for sale. Not much information regarding the sets has been released aside from the usual set number, set name, and box art.

A total of eight sets have been revealed, more will be seen later for sure, so make sure you click the button below.

Legends of Chima Set Pictures + Chima Speedorz

Pictures of the sets from the first wave of Legends of Chima have finally surfaced. First thing to note: All the vehicles are fashioned after animals. Second: The box art is only the same on two of the boxes.

Looks like a cross between Ninjago, and the 2006 theme Exo-Force. Two very popular themes. Does this mean Legends of Chima will be twice as popular? LEGO certainly hopes so.
It looks like they've put a lot of thought into this release.
9 regular building sets and 7 Speedorz sets. Speedorz seems similar to the Ninjago spinner sets.

More pictures after the break.

Two New 2013 Super Heroes Sets

Two more Super Heroes set images have come up. No word on price or piece count.

76004 Spider-Man Cycle Chase
76000 Arctic Batman and Mr. Freeze

Aqua-Man, Venom, and Nick Fury make their LEGO debuts in these two sets. Not to mention Arctic Batman. My guess is a $20-$30 price range.

TMNT: 79103 Turtle Lair Attack, 79102 Stealth Shell in Pursuit

Two new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets have been revealed. 79103 Turtle Attack Lair and 79102 Stealth Shell in Pursuit.
As has been said before, I don't know much about TNMT, so I have no idea what any of these vehicles and buildings are. And even worse, I don't know who any of the villains are. So all I can give you is the set names and numbers. (Don't tell this to anyone, but I can't even tell which Turtle is which)

Loving the new villain pieces. That pink, fish-like monster is awesome!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Goblin King Battle, An Unexpected Gathering Set Previews

Fresh off the presses. LEGO has released set previews of both Goblin King Battle and An Unexpected Gathering.
Two designers bring us behind the models and show us all the reasons to purchase these sets. And there are a lot of reasons.

Ninjago 2013 The Final Battle Sets

More sets keep popping up all over the internet from the 2013 LEGO wave. Confirmation of the final wave of Ninjago has come up in the form of 6 pictures.
Really? Another wave of Ninjago? What happened to Legends of Chima replacing it?
Get this: LEGO has decided to produce two almost identical themes. One good thing about this: hundreds of golden pieces. :)

This will be the final wave though. All the sets are part of The Final Battle collection. And believe me, this'll be the final battle.

Don't know the names of the sets. Just numbers.
Set #1: 70505

LEGO Super Heroes Spider-Man - Daily Bugle Showdown and The Bat vs. Bane - Tumbler Chase

NYCC is just bursting with LEGO goodness. And you thought TMNT was good.
How about Super Heroes Spider-Man - Daily Bugle Showdown with Spidey, Jonah Jameson, Novah, Beetle, and Doctor Doom. Convinced yet?
How about 476 pieces with a $49.99 price tag. Sound good?

I can't wait for this set. Being a big Spider-Man fan myself I am in love. Okay, not really. But the Daily Bugle is a great building. And I think I like it even more after seeing it built out of my favorite toy.

DC fans! Don't leave yet. Check this out!
The Bat vs. Bane - Tumbler Chase with Batman, Bane, and Commissioner Gordon.
368 pieces and $39.99.

I'm not really much of a Batman fan (Spidey is just too cool!) but I do like the look of this. A smaller Tumbler has been wanted by fans for awhile. Though I think this one may be a bit too small.
DC fans, what say you?

LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Shellraiser Street Chase

All the arguments about whether LEGO has gotten a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license have finally been quieted. Today at NYCC the official pictures of TMNT sets were revealed.
The Shellraiser Street Chase includes 5 minifigures (including Michelangelo and Leonardo) and will run for the wopping price of $59.99. Sorry, I don't know the names of the villains. Anyone more experienced in TMNT lore can post a comment and let me know.

Honestly, this is another "no no" theme for me. I was never really into TMNT, and the price of this small set scares me from even considering it.

Keep your eyes peeled on BrickEnd as there is a lot more from NYCC that I haven't even posted yet. And as October is one of the biggest "leak" months, there will be a ton of more stuff to look forward to.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Official Sets

At long last The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey sets have been revealed! The wait has been well worth it as I can't see them doing a better job.
These were actually released a few days ago. So you've probably seen them before. But if you haven't,  get ready to be blown away!

I'll be giving details, thoughts, and possible spoilers after the break. So click the button below.

Dalheim Medieval Diorama - Revisited by Daniel Gran

A beautiful medieval build by Daniel Gran. The cottages are adorned with great architectural woodwork. And isn't that waterfall so waterfally! Oh, the words I think up.

Ralph McQuarrie..... Cylon Baseship...Concept MI by Garry King

Words cannot begin to describe just how amazing this is! The size alone is enough for most people to love. But add all of the detailing that fills out this thing and, wow!

LegoLord has built another impressive castle. He's toned down a bit on size, but it's still worth checking out!

Favorite Licensed Theme Poll Closed

Today is what? October 5th? Yes. Sorry for the delay in posting this. Hopefully you'll find it worthwhile.
I'm pleased to announce that this poll generated the most votes than any of the previous polls. But time for the results of the September Poll. And the landslide winner is...
The Lord of the Rings!
With a 51% of the total vote, this theme decimated all opposition. Star Wars came in a not very close second with 18%.

And now... October is here! October 5th, that is. And I've managed to think up a new poll. Are you ready?
The BrickEnd October poll is...
Favorite Year of LEGO. Yep. From 2000 on, you can vote for your favorite Year of LEGO! Sorry, no earlier. The list might get a little long.
So head on over to the sidebar, and vote!
And don't forget to send me your poll ideas at the Contact Us page!
