TMNT Full Winter 2013 Wave

The rest of the winter 2013 TMNT sets have appeared over on Eurobricks. The wave consists of 6 sets, with probable price points ranging from $9.99 to $69.99.
Plenty of new minifigure parts in this wave. As well as tons of new weapons.

79100 Kraang Lab Escape. 90 pcs. Probable price: $9.99.
Minifigures: Michelangelo, Kraang, and Foot Soldier.

To see the rest of the wave, click the button below.
As you can see in the picture above, Michelangelo is escaping from Kraang's lab. I have no idea why.
As I've said before, I know nothing about TMNT.
That Kraang (brain-crab-thing) part is totally awesome! It's like LEGO is making a new piece for each villains head. Except for that guy clothed in black. The box says he's a foot soldier. A foot soldier for whom?

79102 Stealth Shell in Pursuit. 162 pcs. Probable price: $14.99.
Minifigures: Raphael, Fishface, and Foot Soldier.

The Stealth Shell is in hot pursuit of Fishface on his speedboat.  The Foot Soldier looks to be throwing a throwing star at the Stealth Shell. Then why was he releasing Michelangelo from Kraang's lab? Whose side is he on anyway? And why is he in the two cheapest sets in the wave? Do we really need an army of anonymous beings?

79101 Shredder's Dragon Bike. 198 pcs. Probable price: $19.99 - $24.99.
Minifigures: Donatello, Shredder, and Foot Soldier.

First off, that Shredder minifigure is totally awesome! I would buy this set only for him. By the way, I do know who Shredder is. I vaguely remember a level on the TMNT video game when you fought him at the end.
The Foot Soldier makes a third set. Seriously, LEGO, seriously? I don't need anymore of this guy.

79105 Baxter Robot Rampage. 397 pcs. Probable price: $39.99 - $49.99.
Minifigures: Raphael, Donatello, April On'Neil, Baxter Stockman, Mouser.

The Ninja Turtles take on Baxter Stockman's robot. It doesn't look well for Baxter. If my robot was made of 5 big plastic pieces I would die too.
That robot is the ugliest thing I've ever seen! What are you doing, LEGO?! That is horrendous!
One reason you should get this set: the Foot Soldier isn't in it. :)

79104 The Shellraiser Street Chase. Unknown pcs. Official Price: $59.99.
Minifigures: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Dog Pound, The Kraang, and Foot Soldier.

The foot soldier comes back with different colored clothes. But at the same time his true colors are revealed. He is attacking the Turtles. That means he's bad! Yes! Then why is he helping them in some of the sets? Maybe LEGO doesn't even know his allegiance.

79103 Turtle Lair Attack. 488 pcs. Probable price: $49.99 - $69.99.
Minifigures: Raphael, Leonardo, Splinter, Dark Ninja, and Foot Soldier.

The Turtles break out their skateboards to defend their lair. Raphael runs over the Foot Soldier while Leonardo swings around the base.
What is the Foot Soldier doing here? I honestly give up with him. Leave a comment and tell me who he is. I'm too lazy to look him up.

What do you think of the TMNT winter 2013 wave? Plenty of reasons to be excited for the new year!

  1. These look promising! Your write ups are awesome, thanks for the info! I'll try to clear up the Foot Soldier thing (from my knowledge of the classic show): those guys are cannon fodder baddies, kinda like the gray baddies from Power Rangers. The guy looks like he slips on pizza and accidentally hits the button to release Michelangelo.

    1. Thanks for the comment.
Unfortunately, I was never really into Power Rangers. But Wikipedia knows plenty about foot soldiers. :)
