Safari by Legopard

A pretty awesome zebra roams this small safari MOC by Legopard. The trees are simple, but have a great look. A nice little scene overall.
This post marks my 33rd and final post for the month of August. Hope you guys had a great month. I'll see you (or not) tomorrow when I announce the winner of this month's poll.

LEGO Monster Fighters 40076 Zombie Car

A high-res image of the newest Monster Fighters poly-bag. This will be available from LEGO in September as part of a promotion: Spend $75 or more at Shop@Home or a LEGO retail store and get this for free! Hooray! Another excuse to buy LEGO!
This'll be a cheap way to get hold of a lot of zombies. That is if you want to spend $75 a bunch of times. Or, use bricklink.

LEGO Pirates: Colonial Outpost by THE BRICK TIME Team

Some of the best rock work I have ever seen! It really is awesome! And the whole outpost design is terrific. The colors and architecture work together for a great MOC.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA SORT SOME BRICKS! by Mike Johnson

Sometimes you do! And looking at someone else's LEGO collection usually inspires most anybody to go sort out their bricks.
Check out this assortment, and GO SORT SOME BRICKS! (I know I will!)

Bag End by Lars Troost

A nice little Bag End for your LOTR figures. I like how the door is on a different angle with the rest of the hole.
There is another picture with a better angle on the page. It shows more of the detailing.

Mid-Twenty-First Century California House by Michael Labelle

Some very impressive architectural designs on this baby. And the look is very realistic!
This is one very detailed, sleek, and well thought out MOC!

Protection by Max Pointner

Maybe Max IS still on vacation and building with limited bricks, but I wonder if he could've made a better vignette with his entire collection.
This is one of those MOCs that makes you feel just awesome! That tree is one reason, and that meager shack is another. But there's something about that wall. It's simple, but... well, awesome!

Marionette by Paul Vermeesch

I think Paul Vermeesch is trying to become the best TFOL. If he keeps up this pace, he'll definitely be in the running.
This Marionette is just one of the reasons why he is so popular. Honestly, this looks more like Legohaulic than Paul Vermeesch. It's that good!

Rivendell by Blake Baer and Jack Bittner

Blake Baer has done it again! If you remember, last year he built an amazing Amon Hen MOC for Brickfair 2011 with Jack Bittner. This year, he is back again with Jack, and they made an even more amazing Rivendell for Brickfair 2012.
I can't even begin to describe the sheer beauty of this MOC. It is downright stupendous! I just can't put this awesomeness in words.
Just do this: Click the link below, comment, and don't forget to give this five stars!

The Mage Rises by A P

The epic conclusion to A P's Rise of the Mage story is now out! This time, our heroes are in danger from just about everything imaginable. Not only does this wrap up the awesome Rise of the Mage story, it also showcases some amazing MOCs!
Read the conclusion to one of the greatest MOC-stories in history now!

Do you think I made it sound cinematic enough?

Finish the epic on Mocpages!
EDIT: Due to problems beyond Alex's control, he had to upload it in two parts. Part 1Part 2. It's still epic!

'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves... by Hans Dendauw NPD

I can practically hear the Jabberwocky's roar as I look at this creation.
Not many Alice in Wonderland MOCs have been made. But, as most of you know, VirtuaLUG made a large AIW display for this years Brickcon. This Jabberwocky was a part of that massive layout.
The whole design is pretty flawless. And even though they are more like wing skeletons, the wings are awesome!

Old Stone House by Sean Kenney

Yes, I know I just blogged one of Sean's MOCs. But if he keeps on building great stuff, I'll keep blogging.
This Old Stone House is ridiculously detailed. Just imagine how many 1x1 and 2x2 bricks had to go into this. I don't even have half as many 1x1 bricks.
I love the porch on the side. It's so simple, but so good.

AMAZING SPIDER MAN ULTRA-POSEABLE ACTION FIGURE by M McCooey

This is definitely the best Spider-man ever made from LEGO! Everything is to the extreme! And there are plenty more pictures on M McCooey's page.
Plus, want this made into a set? Go and vote for it on LEGO CUUSOO!

Winter 2013 Star Wars Set Rumors

The newest set rumors in the ongoing Star Wars theme are now out. Every year around this time, some website from who-knows-where puts up a list of the winter 2013 sets. Shortly after they put up the list, EVERY LEGO website is reposting it. So, to join the hundreds (not really) websites putting these rumors up, I am writing this post to let you know the newest internet sensation (also not really).
Joking aside, this list is most likely legit. Have fun reading the list and imagining the possibilities.

We'll be receiving a third wave of the Planet Series sets. This time, the planets will be:
 • Kamino with Astromech Droid and Jedi Starfighter
 • Coruscant with Clone Pilot and Republic Assault Striker
 • Asteroid with Tie Bomber and Tie Pilot

The regular sets for this wave are as follows:
 • The Old Republic Battle Pack
 • Clone Trooper vs Droideka Battle Pack (Two Clone Troopers and Two Droidekas)
 • A-Wing Starfighter (Admiral Ackbar, Han Solo, and an A-Wing Pilot)
 • AT-RT (Yoda, Clone Trooper and Assasin Droid)
 • Z-95 Headhunter (General Krell, Clone Pilot, and Clone Trooper)
 • Rancor Pit (Luke Skywalker, Rancor Trainer, Gamorrean Guard, Rancor)

That's all we know for now. Of course there'll probably be two more Limited Edition sets exclusively available from Target or Toys R Us.
Thanks to Brickset for the info!

Xylophone by Sean Kenney

So I think we all agree that Sean Kenney is just amazing at building large and small scale models of just about everything. Maybe that's why he has a job with LEGO...
I also think that this is the first MOC of his to be displayed on this site. Kinda ironic since he is the  creator of Mocpages. Cause, without him, I wouldn't be showing you guys these great MOCs.

LEGO CUUSOO: Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover Breaks 10,000 Supporters

This project was barely even known of until a couple of weeks ago. It's been on the CUUSOO website for over 8 months and has attracted little attention until someone sent out a plea on Reddit for everyone to support it. It then got over 3,000 supporters in 24 hours. That plea did the job for this project though,
as it recently passed the 10,000 mark.
Don't think I don't like it. I do! And these are some of the reasons:
This is probably the only project that has passed the 10,000 mark that could be made into a LEGO set immediately without any changes. It's that LEGO-ish! Some models need to be scaled down, some need to be scaled up, but this one is pretty much exactly what you will see in stores. That is, if it passes the review...

Noble VI by Mike Nieves

Great positioning on this Noble VI MOC. I love the torso details! All the black joints and under-armor pieces work perfectly!

My, what big ears you have... by Leda Kat =^..^=

And what big claws you have! I love the bones near the bed. Though I always preferred the ending when the Grandmother got saved by the Woodcutter/Huntsman. :)
It had to be done, right!? The Red Riding Hood minifig was called "Grandma's Visitor" for a reason.

The LEGO Story

So last week was the LEGO Company's 80th birthday. To celebrate, LEGO released a video of the start of the LEGO Company and the origin of the brick told through a story by Kjeld Kirk Christiansen.
The animation is fabulous and the story is one most of you have probably heard, but not in this way. Whether you are an AFOL that knows the LEGO Company, the sets, and everything LEGO to a tea, or just a KFOL that finds LEGO fun to make your spaceships out of, you'll enjoy this video immensely.

Official LEGO Youtube Channel

LEGO has recently created an official LEGO Youtube Channel. This will be the future home for all LEGO videos. Up until now, I think most of the videos were only on the LEGO Club channel or the LEGOTV channel. But now, we can subscribe for great LEGO movies!

New LEGO The Lord of the Rings Video Game Trailer

The newest trailer for the LEGO The Lord of the Rings Video Game is out. This one introduces the Fellowship, shows us some awesome effects, and brings us into the realm of The Lord of the Rings like never before (For LEGO anyway).

Smaug the Tremendous by Fat Tony

Smaug is indeed tremendous. And that is a lot of gold! If you look closely, you can see that there are hundreds of gold pieces in a trans-gold bag. That way, the gold doesn't tumble around under the Magnificent Smaug. Great idea!

2012 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Revealed/Available

Yep! The title says it all! The 2012 Star Wars Advent Calendar models and figs are now available for your viewing pleasure, and if you want to pay $20 extra, you can order it from TRU right now!
Anybody other than me kinda tired of the Advent Calendar? Not to mention it's $40 for barely anything. But, LEGO thinks it's successful. And they'll continue making them whether or not I buy them. And I never do.
This will be available in November from LEGO and will most likely cost $40 (TRU markup is $60). Yay for Christmas in August!

LEGO CUUSOO: UCS Sandcrawler Crawls to 10,000

It certainly took long enough. But what does it matter now that it's done? The LEGO CUUSOO project UCS Sandcrawler has recently broken the 10,000 supporter mark. This means... Review stage!
I'm very happy that it finally made it. It took awhile to get the word around, but now we'll have a chance to hope that this is made into a set!
The details are really fantastic on this. I don't know if I really want to see LEGO butcher an amazing model. Just to make something smaller and affordable. Not to mention more LEGO-ish. But it'll be worth it!

Command Wolf by Kyle Peckham

I just love robot animals! And this Command Wolf is pretty awesome. The leg designs are pure genius!

See it on Mocpages.

Exo-Suit by Cam M.

Power-suits are not easy to make. Make the torso too big and it'll fall over. Make the legs too bulky and it'll look like it's wearing balloon pants. Adding rotatable joints can make it unstable and shaky. And weapons can throw the whole model off balance.
As I said, they're not easy to make. But Cam has made it perfectly.
I love how the shoulders are big while the arms are so shrimpy. But yet the model stays upright. And it has tiny feet!

The Mighty Castle of Buduje by Flare.

This castle is indeed mighty. The walls mix dark tan (one of my favorite LEGO colors) and grey to create a perfect little gate. In case you can't see from this angle, the bridge is a new design that I don't think I have seen before. I probably have, but I don't remember.

"A Forgotten Place" by Josh B.

This MOC by Josh B has a nice little jungle feel. The multicolored roof on the bunker is a great touch. Plus, The mech has a nifty design on the legs. And a nifty design on the armor. AND a nifty design on the...

The Lord of the Rings Pre-order Elrond Bonus

Amazon.de has a LEGO Lord of the Rings Elrond free with any purchase of The Lord of the Rings Video Game. No Idea when this will be available in the US. But you could pick one up on Ebay for a decent price. (Maybe)

This dude looks smashing! I hope he'll be available in a later set. Hadhafang looks like two different new pieces. And they'll allow for some great weapons.

Elemental Attack on Avalonia by Z Cerberus

The elements are attacking! I can say that I really wouldn't want to be in that tower. But I'll look at it.
The buildings are great designs. And that rock monster is awesome!

Poll Closed/New Poll

July has ended. And what a month it was. While not many votes were placed, the votes that were placed were counted and set down, and now I present the final of the July poll.

And the winner(s)/loser(s) of the July poll for Favorite and least Favorite LEGO Theme Ever is...
The Lord of the Rings tied with Medieval. Not much of a surprise here. These are great themes, and castle sets have been very popular among everyone.
And for the worst LEGO theme ever... My Little Pony. Where did that come from? Has MLP become a theme without me knowing? Nope. Other than MLP, there was a tie between Spongebob Squarepants and Monster Fighters.

Thanks for voting in this July poll. But today is August first. And the new poll for August, to celebrate the Olympic Games, is the Favorite Team GB Collectible Minifigure.
This should be fun. After staying up watching the Games for the last few days, I (and most other people) are in an Olympic mood.
Vote for your favorite!

Books A Million Shelob Attacks $12.99

Apparently, a small US book store has The Lord of the Rings Shelob Attacks set for $12.99. And I'm pretty sure that this is the price it is listed at. So this might not be a sale. The downside is that BAM doesn't have many stores. So if you, like me, live in an area where you'll have to drive at least an hour to get this, you're out of luck. You can find a store by searching in their Store Locator.
This offer seems to only be good in a BAM store. So I'm still out of luck.

Also, Uruk-hai Army is listed at $19.99. A full $10 off! I would recommend getting yourself to one of these stores. Unfortunately, I'm perpetually out of luck.

Thanks to Toysnbricks for the info.
