Castle and Other Summer Themes Available at TRU

Toys R Us now has several of the Summer Castle sets for sale. Along with Legends of Chima, Hero Factory, City, Galaxy Squad, and more.
Selections vary from store to store, so I can't promise you'll find any of these sets at a TRU near you. But it's worth a try.

75025 Jedi Defender-class Cruiser Revealed

The newest LEGO Star Wars set has been revealed: 75025 Jedi Defender-class Cruiser. The set contains 627 pieces, 4 minifigures (Sith Warrior, Jedi Knight, Jedi Counselor, and Sith Trooper), and will most likely retail for $119.99.
Looks like a great set with awesome figures! LEGO has finally started giving the Old Republic the attention it deserves.
In other news, most Summer 2013 Star Wars sets are available from Kmart.

EDIT: The Summer sets are not available at Kmart. They were shipping out Gungan Subs instead.

2013 Castle Images

Images of the 2013 Castle sets have been released. Castle is the rebirth of the Kingdoms theme from a year ago, though it seems to be based more off of the Knight's Kingdom theme from 2000.
We'll be getting five sets to begin with. I'm sure we'll see an additional exclusive set in a month or so.
The rest of the wave can be seen after the break.

70400 Forest Ambush. 4 minifigures. 90 pcs. Probable price point: $11.99.

2013 LOTR High-res Images

Eurobricks has revealed high-res images of two more of the Summer 2013 Lord of the Rings sets.
The two sets are The Council of Elrond, and The Wizard Battle
Both are relatively small sets, with rather *cough* lame *cough* builds. Especially on The Council of Elrond set. I am very disappointed in the design of this set.
The Wizard Battle is slightly more promising. The build isn't much better, but the Saruman minifig is very nice. And with a price point of $12.99, it's a great impulse set.

The last of the three Superman sets has been revealed: 76009 Superman: Black Zero Escape. The set comes with 168 pieces, three minifigures (including Superman, General Zod, and Lois Lane) and hopefully a cheap price of $20.
This set ties in to the Man of Steel film coming out in June.

LEGO Iron Man 3 Posters

The whole world is getting ready for what looks to be the best Iron Man film yet! To celebrate this film, LEGO has released LEGO-ized versions of the movie posters.
Both posters show multiple Iron Man suits. In the one below, you can clearly see the Iron Patriot armor. This is a suit that was not released with the first wave of Iron Man sets. Hopefully this means we'll be getting it sometime in the future.
My favorite poster is definitely the top one. The way the water is falling off of him, and all the suits in the background are awesome. Which poster is your favorite?

Summer 2013 Star Wars Picures

Just a couple days after we saw the Summer 2013 LOTR set pictures, all the Star Wars sets have been revealed. We get high-res images of every set. Including many we haven't seen before.
Most sets are remakes of 3-5 year old sets, with the designs differing slightly from the originals. But we do get some brand new models, including several from Episode II and the Clone Wars.

See more on Eurobricks.

LEGO Star Wars 75024 HH-87 Starhopper Image

The first image of the 2013 Star Wars 75024 HH-87 Starhopper has been revealed over on GrooveBricks.
This set comes from the Friends and Enemies episode from season 4 of Star Wars The Clone Wars, and contains three minifigures. Cad Bane, Obi Wan Kenobi (In bounty hunter disguise), and a Nikto Guard.
That's all that is known for now. If anything else comes up, I'll be sure to post it.

March 2013 Brickarms Release

Will Chapman (the man behind Brickarms) tops off March with a release of 10 brand new weapons. All are excellent. And will certainly live up to expectations.
Brickarms is one of the leading companies in LEGO compatible weapons. And it's not hard to see why. Anyone who owns at least one Brickarms product knows that these things are top-notch. No cheap plastic here, this is quality ABS!

Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man 3 Sets

Images of the Iron Man 3 sets have at last been revealed. Actually, they were revealed nearly a week ago, but due to a busy schedule, and probably me just being lazy, I have failed to post them until now.
We'll be getting three sets, each with a new and different version of Iron Man, and a second Ben Kingsley LEGO character.

76008 Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown
91 pieces. Minifigures: Iron Man, The Mandarin.
Estimated price: $12.99.

76006 Iron Man: Extremis Sea Port Battle
195 pieces. Minifigures: Iron Man, War Machine, Bad guy with a scary face.
Estimated price: $19.99.

A little spoiler here. Iron Man and War Machine work together to take down a dangerous villain. Probably one of The Mandarin's henchmen. Gotta love that War Machine figure!

76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack
364 pieces. Minifigures: Iron Man, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, The Mandarin, Evil Henchmen.
Estimated price: $39.99.

If the picture of this set has anything to do with the movie, then we know that Pepper Potts puts on the Iron Man armor and possibly fights The Mandarin.
I'm very happy we'll be getting a Tony Stark figure. No one hangs out in an armor suit all day.

What do you think of the Iron Man 3 sets?

Favorite LEGO Action/Adventure Theme Poll Closed

The results are in for the first poll of 2013. A bunch of you made a choice from 14 Action/Adventure themes. Only one theme didn't get a vote. I guess Alpha Team wasn't very good anyway.
With Dino Attack ahead for nearly the whole month, it was a bit surprising to see Ninjago come from behind in the last few days. So the winner of the January 2013 BrickEnd Poll is... Dino Attack and Ninjago!
These two themes were tied for votes at the end of the month. Not the way any dino or ninja wanted it to end.

And that brings us to February. A month of hearts, cards, and chocolates. Or at least it used to be that.
We'll be starting off the month with a brand new poll. I'll leave you to decide if it goes with Valentines or not.
The February 2013 poll is... Favorite The Lone Ranger Set!
Ok, maybe not hearts and flowers, but whenever I see one of those trailers, I get pretty excited. You'll have six sets to choose from. Not as many as last month, but definitely easier on the voter.
You can view the sets here.

First 2013 Castle Set Revealed

With the German Toy Fair in full swing, we've finally received a picture from the new 2013 Castle theme. Not much of a difference from previous castles, but it has been a couple years since a castle line, so I'm sure it'll be well received.
I don't see any new pieces besides the new horse armor. Which is beautiful. And that just might be a new helmet on the black night in the bottom left corner of the box.
Notice the evil castle on the hilltop in the background. We'll probably be seeing that set next.

76002 Superman's Metropolis Showdown

The first set from the upcoming Man of Steel film has been revealed. In it, we have Superman taking on  what appears to be an Evil Superman. I don't follow Superman or any of his villains, so I can say that I'm really not sure who the villain is. But judging by the outfit, it's a black Superman-suited Clark Kent wanna be. EDIT: His name appears to General Zod.
 76002 Superman's Metropolis Showdown
$12.99. :)
Release date: June 14th 2013.

2013 Star Wars Sets Revealed

Flickr user Motayan has published some pictures from the summer 2013 Star Wars wave. I do wonder how he came by them. But he seems to come by a lot of future LEGO sets.
The two sets revealed are 75019 AT-TE, and 75018 Jek-14 Stealth Starfighter. Even though they're new sets, they are barely even that. Why? The AT-TE is nearly exactly the same as the one from 2008. And the Jek-14 is the evil(?) equivalent of the Republic-class Strike Starfighter.
But there is still plenty of stuff to be excited for. Such as the brand new Jedi in the AT-TE (I believe this set will be from Episode II). And the great blue Stormtrooper figure. He'll be an expensive one for sure. Check him out below!

LEGO Games Legends of Chima and Super Heroes

We'll be seeing two new LEGO Games later this year. 50003 LEGO Games Batman, and 50006 LEGO Games Legends of Chima.

Both should be available in the summer.

Thanks to Flickr user Motayan for the info!

CMF Series 10 Picture and News

A picture has come up from I don't know where of the Collectible Minifigures Series 10. My guess is the picture was taken at the London Toy Fair from above the LEGO booth.
Series 10 will be available in May in gold bags. For this series, LEGO will be sorting 4,000 gold minifigures into random boxes. That is what I believe I read. Though I can't remember where. No word on wether the gold minifigures will be gold versions of one of the figures, or a plain gold figure.

Series 10:
Sea Captain
Sad Clown
Librarian
Grandpa
Bumblebee Girl
Roman Commander
Warrior Woman
Decorator
Tomahawk Warrior
Trendsetter
Baseball Fielder
Revolution Soldier
Motorcycle Mechanic
Medusa
Skydiver
Paintball Player

An updated version of the Series 11 lineup has also been released.
Yeti
Evil Mech
Welder
Lady Robot
Jazz Musician
Constable
Holiday Elf
Bavarian Lady
Scarecrow
Mountain Climber
Grandma
Tiki Warrior
Gingerbread Man
Barbarian
Dinner Waitress
Scientist

I'm very excited for the rest of 2013! What do you think about Series 10 and 11 of the Collectible Minifigures?
