Series 10 Minifigures Revealed

To top off a pretty boring month (as far as LEGO news goes), Argos has posted a picture of the new Series 10 Collectible Minifigures. Bursting with new pieces and with insane amounts of detail, I'm very surprised LEGO can still deliver so strongly after so many previous minifigures.
The lineup includes:

  • Sea Captain
  • Sad Clown
  • Librarian
  • Grandpa
  • Bumblebee Girl
  • Roman Commander
  • Warrior Woman
  • Decorator
  • Tomahawk Warrior
  • Trendsetter
  • Baseball Fielder
  • Revolution Soldier
  • Motorcycle Mechanic
  • Medusa
  • Skydiver
  • Paintball Player
  • Special Gold Minifigure

What a fantastic wave. My favorites are Warrior Woman, Roman Commander, Tomahawk Warrior, and Grandpa. Yes, Grandpa. I've been waiting for actual bald minifigures for a long time. LEGO, YOU ROCK!
And yes, there will be a 17th minifigure. 4,000 (I believe) exclusive gold minifigures will be sorted out into random boxes. Have fun searching for those!
What are your thoughts on Series 10?

Caption This Photo! #2 by Ian Spacek

There is a game going around on Mocpages. Certain people make random, single-pane MOCs and the public comment with their captions for the photo. Really a great idea.
Go over to the MOC on Mocpages and leave your caption idea. Or you could just leave it in the comments section below. But your caption may not be seen by Ian.

See it on Mocpages.

Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire by Legopard

Someone has finally taken it upon himself to recreate one of the many scenes from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. And that person is the fantastic Legopard!
Using all thirteen dwarf minifigs, he built the cliffhanger (literally) scene in which the Company is trapped in a burning tree surrounded by orcs and wargs.
This scene was definitely one of the highlights from The Hobbit. Yeah, all the perfect jumping from tree to tree without falling out was pretty unrealistic. But I was having the time of my life while watching this film.

See it on Mocpages.

Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man 3 Sets

Images of the Iron Man 3 sets have at last been revealed. Actually, they were revealed nearly a week ago, but due to a busy schedule, and probably me just being lazy, I have failed to post them until now.
We'll be getting three sets, each with a new and different version of Iron Man, and a second Ben Kingsley LEGO character.

76008 Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown
91 pieces. Minifigures: Iron Man, The Mandarin.
Estimated price: $12.99.

76006 Iron Man: Extremis Sea Port Battle
195 pieces. Minifigures: Iron Man, War Machine, Bad guy with a scary face.
Estimated price: $19.99.

A little spoiler here. Iron Man and War Machine work together to take down a dangerous villain. Probably one of The Mandarin's henchmen. Gotta love that War Machine figure!

76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack
364 pieces. Minifigures: Iron Man, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, The Mandarin, Evil Henchmen.
Estimated price: $39.99.

If the picture of this set has anything to do with the movie, then we know that Pepper Potts puts on the Iron Man armor and possibly fights The Mandarin.
I'm very happy we'll be getting a Tony Stark figure. No one hangs out in an armor suit all day.

What do you think of the Iron Man 3 sets?

New York Toy Fair Pictures (Star Wars, LOTR, Castle, More)

Hundreds of pictures from the New York Toy Fair have been released. Not to mention numerous videos from The BrickShow. Most of the sets have excellent prices. And the minifigs just keep improving.

Check out all the new sets for 2013 by clicking the links below!
Castle
City
Creator
Friends
LEGO Games
Galaxy Squad
Lord of the Rings
Mindstorms and Technic
Legends of Chima
Hero Factory
Star Wars
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I'm very excited for Star Wars and LOTR. Lord of the Rings has some beautiful sets with very cheap prices, and while this Star Wars wave is mostly a remake of older sets, the prices have improved, as well as the minifigs.
Jango Fett, Christmas Jango Fett. Yes!

More Lone Ranger Set Pictures

More images from the highly anticipated LEGO theme have been unearthed. Some nice, detailed pictures of the sets 79108 Stagecoach Escape and 79111 Constitution Train Chase, and a full gallery from the New York Toy Fair with plenty of pictures of all the sets. Price points and piece counts are also available thanks to ToyArk. See more pictures here: The Lone Ranger sets from Toy Fair.

I'll be updating with pictures from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Galaxy Squad, Castle, and more, later!

LEGO CUUSOO: The Legend of Zelda Project Breaks 10,000

The second Legend of Zelda project has passed the 10,000 supporter mark on LEGO CUUSOO. Though the first project was rejected, this one has been allowed to wait till the Spring 2013 CUUSOO Review before going under the critical eye of the CUUSOO team.
Things do look good for this project as LEGO has said "While we cannot create new specific LEGO elements within the operational framework of LEGO CUUSOO, we will consider this concept in earnest in the Spring 2013 LEGO Review period."
So even though we won't be getting any of the great molds made by Ragaru, we could still possibly get a couple Legend of Zelda sets. And with a third LoZ project gaining more support everyday, maybe LEGO will finally take a hint and give the fans what they want.

LEGO CUUSOO: Andy/Bugdroid The Android by Google Hits 10,000

After a massive amount of support in early August, many thought the Bugdroid would reach 10,000 in barely over a week. But it took a little longer than that. Here we are, over 6 months later, and the Bugdroid has finally passed the mark.
It's one of those projects that makes you smile. While maybe LEGO and Android users get the biggest kick out of it, it's a project that could possibly be groundbreaking.
Let's hope LEGO allows this to pass the review.

In other news, the second most popular Legend of Zelda project is under 200 supporters away from 10,000. I expect the last few by the middle of next week. With the first LoZ project being rejected, many are holding their breath to see what happens.

LEGO CUUSOO: Galaxy Command

Galaxy Command is one of those CUUSOO projects that doesn't have that much support, but is one of the most talked about projects at the moment.
While some would compare it to the Space Troopers project, Galaxy Command is its own thing. And it has the potential to be an excellent LEGO set.
There are multiple ship designs on the project page. And some awesome aliens!
I highly advise you to go over and support it.

Favorite LEGO Action/Adventure Theme Poll Closed

The results are in for the first poll of 2013. A bunch of you made a choice from 14 Action/Adventure themes. Only one theme didn't get a vote. I guess Alpha Team wasn't very good anyway.
With Dino Attack ahead for nearly the whole month, it was a bit surprising to see Ninjago come from behind in the last few days. So the winner of the January 2013 BrickEnd Poll is... Dino Attack and Ninjago!
These two themes were tied for votes at the end of the month. Not the way any dino or ninja wanted it to end.

And that brings us to February. A month of hearts, cards, and chocolates. Or at least it used to be that.
We'll be starting off the month with a brand new poll. I'll leave you to decide if it goes with Valentines or not.
The February 2013 poll is... Favorite The Lone Ranger Set!
Ok, maybe not hearts and flowers, but whenever I see one of those trailers, I get pretty excited. You'll have six sets to choose from. Not as many as last month, but definitely easier on the voter.
You can view the sets here.
